Mayflower connection
William Leander Nickerson (Arthur Edward’s father) is the line back to the Mayflower ancestor. William’s father married Sarah Crowell and she is linked back to Stephen Hopkins who arrived to America on the Mayflower.

Catherine Crowell who was Arthur Edward Nickerson’s grandmother was a direct descendant of Stephen Hopkins.

Married to Will Nickerson (we think). There is no marriage certificate that I can find. William L[eander] Nickerson was born the year that the sr. died. After doing some research I have come to the conclusion that Caterine married a William Watt after Nickerson’s demise. See document (right) which has a William Nickerson b. 1822 d. West Indies 1850.
